YOUR HOME.   YOUR PLANS.   ROOM TO GROW.
Room for everyday life

Keep the home you love.
Create the space you need.

A larger kitchen for gathering together. A dedicated place to work. More room for a growing family. An extension can change how your home works without changing where you live.

Neart Construction provides house extension services across Cardiff and South Wales. Start by telling Greg what you have in mind, where your property is and whether you already have drawings. We can then discuss the scope and next steps for a quote.

A space that fits
your home.

Every property is different. These common extension types offer a starting point for your conversation with us.

01 / REAR EXTENSIONS

Open up your living space.

Explore extra space at the back of your home for a larger kitchen, dining area or family room, with a closer connection to your garden.

02 / SIDE EXTENSIONS

Make more of your footprint.

Consider how space beside your home could support a better layout, a utility area or additional living space.

03 / TWO-STOREY EXTENSIONS

Think beyond the ground floor.

Discuss additional space across two levels. Suitability depends on your property, design and the requirements for your project.

Plan beyond the extra space

Make the whole
home work better.

A successful layout connects the new space with the rooms you already use. Think about these details before settling on a design.

01 / LAYOUT

Start with everyday life.

Think about cooking, eating, working and relaxing. Where do you need more room, and how should people move between the existing house, extension and garden?

02 / NATURAL LIGHT

Look at the rooms behind it.

Windows, rooflights and glazed doors can bring light into the new space. Consider how the extension will also affect daylight in the rooms it connects to.

03 / MATERIALS & FINISHES

Decide how old meets new.

Matching brickwork and roofing can create continuity. A contrasting finish can make the addition feel distinct. Discuss the appearance you want alongside your budget.

04 / ACCESS & OUTDOORS

Think about the whole site.

Consider garden space, changes in floor level, drainage and access for the build. Share anything you know about the property so these details can be explored early.

Understanding the investment

What affects
the cost?

Floor area is only part of the picture. The existing property, proposed structure and specification all help define the work involved.

Groundwork & structure

Site conditions, foundations, drainage and proposed changes to existing walls affect the scope.

Size, roof & glazing

The number of storeys, roof design, windows and doors shape both the building work and material choices.

Kitchens, bathrooms & services

New fittings, plumbing, heating and electrical work need to be considered alongside the shell of the extension.

Access & finishing details

Site access, joinery, flooring, decorating and any garden reinstatement help complete the specification.

Help us understand what you want included

Share any drawings, photographs, your budget range and preferred dates. Tell Greg which finishes and fittings you have in mind so the quoting conversation covers the whole project.

Before we talk

A little preparation.
A better conversation.

You don’t need to have every answer. Share what you can, and we’ll take the discussion from there.

Your questions

Before you extend.

Can I speak to you before I have drawings?

Yes. Tell us about your home and the space you would like to create. Let us know what information you already have so we can discuss the next step.

How much will my extension cost?

A meaningful quote needs a defined scope. Size, structure, access, specifications and finishes all affect the work involved. Share your plans with Greg to begin the quoting conversation.

How long will the build take?

The programme depends on your project and its scope. We can discuss your preferred dates and the work involved before a schedule is agreed.

Can you help with the finishing work too?

Our services include kitchen and bathroom fitting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical services, painting and decorating. Tell us which elements you would like included in your project discussion.

Can we live at home while the extension is built?

This depends on the scope, access and how the work affects your existing rooms and services. Discuss your household’s needs early, particularly if the project involves your kitchen, bathroom or opening up an existing wall. Whether you can remain at home needs to be considered for your particular project.

What disruption should we plan for?

Groundworks, deliveries and structural work can create noise, dust and changes to access. Ask about work areas, protection for existing rooms, storage of materials and any planned interruptions to services. These details should be discussed alongside the programme.

Who will manage the project?

Greg is your first contact for enquiries and quoting. Ben manages the project, while Jos coordinates the team carrying out the work. Discuss how progress updates, questions and changes will be handled before work starts.

What if we want to change something during the build?

Raise the idea with the project manager before additional work is carried out. Ask how the change would affect the agreed scope, cost and programme so everyone understands the next step.

Do you cover my area?

We cover Cardiff, Penarth, Barry, Dinas Powys, Caerphilly, Newport, Cwmbran, Blackwood, Pontypridd, Llantrisant, Cowbridge and Bridgend. Share your postcode when you get in touch so we can discuss your project.
