YOUR COLOURS.   YOUR ROOMS.   THE FINISHING DETAILS.
Start with the room

A change of colour.
A different feeling.

A lighter hallway, a warmer bedroom or a consistent finish throughout the house. Interior decorating is a chance to bring the room’s surfaces and details together.

Neart Construction offers interior decorating across Cardiff and South Wales. Share photographs and the areas you want included with Greg so we can discuss preparation, finishes and the information needed for a quote.

What needs a fresh finish?

From broad surfaces
to the smaller details.

Define the complete room, not just the wall colour. Existing condition and the chosen finish guide the work.

01 / WALLS & CEILINGS

Set the tone of the room.

Discuss refreshing existing surfaces or decorating after building work. Share the areas, current finishes and any known defects.

02 / INTERIOR WOODWORK

Bring the details together.

Include doors, frames, skirting and other interior trim in the conversation. Preparation and product suitability depend on the existing surface.

03 / RENOVATION FINISHES

Plan the final stage.

Discuss decorating alongside new joinery, panelling or wider building work so the sequence and scope can be considered together.

Before choosing the colour

Preparation matters.
So do the details.

A useful brief covers surface condition, use of the room and the work around it.

01 / EXISTING SURFACES

Show the starting point.

Share close-ups of peeling finishes, cracks, staining or damaged areas. The cause and any required repairs need consideration before covering the surface.

02 / COLOUR & FINISH

Choose for the room.

Bring colour references and product details if chosen. Discuss the intended look, room use and care requirements alongside the proposed specification.

03 / FURNITURE & PROTECTION

Plan around what stays.

Tell us which rooms are occupied and what furniture or fittings remain. Discuss access, moving items and protection arrangements before work starts.

04 / COMPLETE SCOPE

Include the adjoining details.

Clarify ceilings, trim, doors and feature areas as well as walls. Agree materials, preparation and which items or work are supplied separately.

After building or joinery work

The right sequence.
A considered finish.

Discuss decorating while planning the wider project, rather than leaving its requirements until the last stage.

New surfaces and fitted features need suitable preparation and finishing arrangements. Share the materials and any product guidance so the proposed work can be considered.

Confirm what needs to be completed before decorating and how later fitting work may affect finished areas. Discuss access and the time needed between stages as part of the programme.

Understanding the quote

What shapes
the cost?

Room count alone doesn’t describe the work. Preparation, surfaces, access and products all affect the scope.

Discuss your ideas ↗

Area & detail

Walls, ceilings, woodwork and the amount of detailed finishing help define the job.

Condition & preparation

Existing coatings, damaged surfaces and agreed preparation affect the work involved.

Products & specification

Chosen colours, finishes and material requirements need consideration.

Access & room arrangements

Furniture, occupied spaces, stairwells and the sequence of rooms affect practical arrangements.

For a useful first conversation

Send wide room photographs, close-ups of problem areas and a list of surfaces. Include colour ideas, any product choices, your budget range and preferred dates.

Your questions

Before we decorate.

Can I have just one room decorated?

Tell Greg which room and surfaces you want included. Share photographs and the preferred finish so the scope and availability can be discussed.

Are ceilings, doors and skirting included?

Confirm each surface in the quoting conversation. Include trim, frames and doors in your list rather than assuming they are covered by a room price.

Can I choose the paint or supply it myself?

Share product details and colour choices. Suitability, quantities and supply responsibilities need to be agreed as part of the scope.

What if the wall has cracks or staining?

Flag the affected areas and any known cause. Existing problems and any repair requirements need consideration before the surface is redecorated.

Can you decorate new panelling or fitted furniture?

Share the material and existing finish, along with any product guidance. Preparation, suitability and the finishing work required need discussion before the quote is agreed.

Can we stay at home while work is carried out?

Discuss room access, the areas in use and your household’s needs. The programme and protection arrangements depend on the scope and products.

Do I need to move the furniture?

Explain what is in each room. Agree which items are moved, who is responsible and how remaining furniture and fittings will be protected before work starts.

How long will decorating take?

The programme depends on preparation, the surfaces, products and access. Share your preferred dates so the work and stages can be discussed together.

Where do you work?

We cover Cardiff, Penarth, Barry, Dinas Powys, Caerphilly, Newport, Cwmbran, Blackwood, Pontypridd, Llantrisant, Cowbridge and Bridgend. Share your postcode when you get in touch.

Planning more than decorating?

Bring the room
together.

Discuss finishing work alongside any related joinery or renovation plans.
