LIGHTING.   EVERYDAY CONNECTIONS.   PLANNED IMPROVEMENTS.
Start with how you use the room

Better lighting.
More useful connections.

A reading corner, a kitchen worktop, a desk full of equipment. Planning electrical work around everyday use helps bring the room’s practical needs into focus.

Neart Construction offers electrical services across Cardiff and South Wales. Tell Greg about the work you have in mind, the existing arrangement and any related renovation so we can discuss the scope and information needed for a quote.

What are you planning?

From a single room
to a wider project.

Share the proposed changes first. The existing installation and chosen products need consideration before work is defined.

01 / LIGHTING

Consider each part of the room.

Discuss general lighting, task areas and feature lighting. Share product specifications and think about where controls would be useful.

02 / SOCKETS & CONNECTIONS

Plan around the things you use.

Tell us where you need power for appliances, desks or entertainment equipment. Discuss proposed positions alongside furniture and the existing installation.

03 / RENOVATION WORK

Before the work is defined

A clear brief.
A considered layout.

Bring room plans, equipment and product information into the conversation early.

01 / EXISTING ARRANGEMENT

Show the starting point.

Share photographs and any existing reports or records you have. Tell us about previous alterations and what you want to change.

02 / APPLIANCES & EQUIPMENT

Know what needs connecting.

Bring model information and installation requirements for chosen products. The proposed work needs to be considered against both the products and the existing installation.

03 / POSITIONS & CONTROLS

Think about everyday use.

Share the furniture layout and where you work, cook or relax. Discuss proposed socket, light and control positions before the room is fitted out.

04 / ACCESS & FINISHES

Consider what surrounds the work.

Flag finished floors, fitted units and surfaces that affect access. Confirm which preparation, making-good and decorating work is included.

Planning a kitchen or bathroom?

Choose the products.
Coordinate the work.

The room’s fittings and electrical requirements need to be considered together.

Share appliance, lighting, mirror and ventilation product details before the layout is agreed. Discuss the assessment and installation requirements for the proposed setting.

Confirm who supplies each item, when it will be available and which related work is included. A clear sequence can help avoid reopening areas after finishes or cabinetry are installed.

Your questions

Before we begin.

Can lighting be planned around my room?

Share the layout, how you use the space and any chosen products. Discuss general, task and feature lighting alongside controls and installation requirements.

Can sockets be added or moved?

Tell us the proposed positions and what they will serve. The existing installation, access and work involved need to be considered before the scope is agreed.

Can electrical work be included in a renovation?

Yes, discuss the required work alongside your kitchen, bathroom or wider building plans so the related trades and sequence can be considered together.

Can I supply my own light fittings?

Send the product specifications and installation information before ordering or scheduling the work. Confirm suitability, supply responsibilities and what is included in fitting.

What about rewiring, consumer units or condition reports?

Describe the request and share any existing reports with Greg. The team needs to confirm the scope, assessment and appropriate specialist arrangements before work is agreed.

Can I enquire about an EV charger or smart-home system?

Share the exact product and proposed use. Availability, suitability and specialist installation requirements need confirmation before the request can become an agreed job.

What paperwork will I receive?

Ask what testing and completion documents apply to the proposed work, who will provide them and whether they are included in the quote. Confirm these arrangements before work starts.

Will power need to be switched off?

The effect depends on the work. Discuss the proposed interruptions and tell us about household or working-from-home needs before the programme is agreed.

How long will the work take?

The programme depends on the scope, access, products and any related building work. Share your preferred dates so the practical arrangements can be discussed.

Where do you work?

We cover Cardiff, Penarth, Barry, Dinas Powys, Caerphilly, Newport, Cwmbran, Blackwood, Pontypridd, Llantrisant, Cowbridge and Bridgend. Share your postcode when you get in touch.
